About Middlemarch Fine Art

Middlemarch Fine Art specialises in the work of mid to late twentieth-century British artists. Alongside her strong academic background in the arts and her successful career in the television industry with her company Middlemarch Films, Belinda Allen Agar BA MST has been collecting and selling Modern British art for the last 35 years.

Inspired by her late parents Pat and Penny Allen’s esteemed collection of Modern and post war British and European art, Belinda’s own collection was born when she purchased her first Keith Vaughan aged 18. Since then, she has handled some of the important names of British Art including John Piper, Roger Hilton, Prunella Clough, Terry Frost, Mary Fedden, John Craxton and Alfred Wallis.

She now curates and sources a wide variety of high quality artists for her clients, with particular emphasis on mid-century works on paper. Belinda hopes to inspire others to enjoy living with art as much as she has done, and her collection can be viewed by appointment in London or Suffolk.
